For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

76 days.

it’s been 76 days. 76 looongg days. and yes, in those 76 days i am continuously surprised by life in general.

for example, i am happy to say that i finally mowed my very first lawn.

yes, you read that correctly. i have never mowed a lawn before.

no, it’s not because i am a princess. or because i’m afraid to get dirty….but you see, i have never had a lawn. i grew up with my parents and brother in an apartment in fairfax. from there we moved into a townhouse- where my parents automatically paved the entire backyard. obviously no lawns in dorm rooms… and the 2 townhouses i lived in with roommates in richmond had no backyards either. me and chris’ (chris and i’s?) first place was an apartment in herndon…and when we lived with his mom the boys always mowed

…and then we bought our first house.

up until now i had nothing to do with our lawn. or flowers. or bushes. or water hose. or rocks. i was gifted with interior design/painting/caulking/decorating skills…but don’t know the first thing about anything green. there is a reason all my plants are fake. however, once the lawn started looking like i should have a sign up that said “Beware of Jungle Animals” vs “Welcome to the Wolterings” i knew it was now or never.

and in full disclosure, maybe i was sitting there cursing at the thing while my friend on the phone is simultaneously telling me to just google instructions (which i refused to do- i was not being defeated) until my neighbor had to come over to help to turn the damn thing on. yup, that happened. he saw me through his window and walked over. whatever…i have no shame.
